I make a few different dolls for little ones. First being my Blanket Doll. This doll is suitable for infants. It is made with either a dreamy organic velour or a snuggly organic sherpa (which is a thick almost teddy bear like fabric) I use all organic materials for my infant dolls. Since having my babies I wanted to have something organic and soft that they could snuggle up with. They have a simple blanket body and a round head that is stuffed with lambs wool. Wool is a wonderful material to use with babies. It is naturally antibacterial and absorbs the smell of home making it perfect for your child’s first lovey. Their faces are embroidered with a sweet, sleepy face – kind of like a newborn just waking up to the world. You can even dip the dolls little hands in water and put it in the freezer so when your little one is teething she can chew on the hands. These dolls can be washed in the machine on gentle and then air dried ( it will take a day though!). Just for your information, the blush on their cheeks is red beeswax.

I also have a Lavender Cuddly that I make. I use the same materials as I do with my Blanket Dolls. This doll also has some wonderful organic lavender grown on my friend Tracey’s property inside it’s belly. This doll is great for little ones as the scent from lavender is relaxing and calming. My three year old loves his cuddly and holds it over his face if he’s having a ‘moment’ (nice word for meltdown!)

Pouchy Dolls 

This little doll is a perfect first doll for children. It’s stuffed with clean, carded wool and it’s body is made with a cotton velour. A little tuft of mohair completes her (or him!). The hat does not come off.

Wool is a great material for children as it is naturally antibacterial. You can surface clean this doll and then just vacume her once in while. Wool also absorbs the scents of home, making this doll a great comfort toy.

Children under 3 often get frustrated with dolls that have clothing and the dolls usually end up naked. These dolls are good as the ‘clothing’ is attached and the dolls can keep warm (and Mama isn’t constantly taking the clothes on and off, not that it gets annoying or anything!)
