Email Replies may take 3- 5 Business days! I know, it's a long time - we sometimes get a lot of emails.
Why are there never any dolls available?
It does look like that, doesn't it? We load dolls on the dates and times listed on the homepage and they usually sell out within a few minutes. I do try to post a preview of what is to come on my Facebook page. I hope as time goes on and we expand that we will have more dolls to offer each week and it will be less difficult to purchase a doll.
How much do the dolls cost?
15" Bamboletta dolls are $155 and the 18" dolls are $185. Prices may be higher if we use specialty yarns like the dredlock or sparkly stuff.
The Baby dolls are $115 for the 12" and $145 for the 16".
The Little Buddy dolls sell for $75. Prices may be higher if we use specialty yarns like the dredlock or sparkly stuff.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do! If you don't see your country listed, email us and we can arrange delivery.
Do you do customs - I thought I saw somewhere that you do customs?
Yes - sometimes - we release 'batches' of custom dolls several times a year. Please sign up for our newsletter for more information and dates! More information is also available here .
How do you wash these dolls?
Each doll does come with washing instructions. They are made of wool - so trips inside the washing machine can't happen. I do give details on how to surface wash, or, if it's something more 'serious' then dollie can have a bath. Wool is antibacterial so you don't have to worry about nasty things growing inside your doll.
Can I send you my childs old clothing to make into doll clothing?
Well - not to me personally - but Reggie over at ReggiesDolls would love to help! You can email her at reggiesdolls@yahoo.com .
What are your shipping rates?
To Canada and the US
$0 to $25 - $6.00
$25 to $50 - $8.00
$50 to $100 - $12.00
$100 to $150 -$16.00
$150 and up - $20.00
All packages sent to the USA are sent either Small Packet Air or Expedited. The packages are being shipped from Canada so there may be a delay with customs - this is VERY rare, but it can happen sometimes. Small Packet Air does not include a tracking number - just an insurance number. In my years of shipping, I have found this service to be extremely reliable. If you need a doll - like next day - I can send it via UPS - that runs around $100. Crazy, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
International
$0 to $25 - $10.00
$25 to $50 - $15.00
$50 to $100 - $22.00
$100 to $155 -$36.00
$155 and up - $55.00
Packages under the 2lb weight can be shipped via Small Packet Air International - over this weight and the package has to go International Air Package - the cost on this service increases quite a bit once this service has to be used. If the postage price comes in lower then what I've charged you, I will refund the difference. This is generally the case if you are getting a doll with clothing - it's usually under the 2 lb weight.
I can't be responsible for lost items in the mail. It very, very rarely happens but I thought I should say something about it. I will do my best and phone the postal service to try to track your item, but rest assured, if this ever does happen - we will try our hardest to find your doll.
Can I pay in installments?
Not currently - we will eventually but have to figure out a good system to keep track.
Do you accept trades?
No. Not that I don't want to, it's just that it's hard for me to keep track of things!
Do you do wholesale?
Not at the moment. We don't have the supply to offer our dolls at wholesale at the moment.
I sent you an email 4 days ago and still no response - what's up? Are you ignoring me?
We are a very, very small operation. Myself and John do all the emailing, packing, loading dolls on the site, dressing dolls, cutting their hair, putting on their faces, etc, etc. Sometimes it just takes a long time to get through the emails (especially if a rough night with one of the kids is involved). You can email me again if your question is urgent. I'm pretty good at getting through them all, but sometimes there are just so many that a few can get buried. I'm looking for an office assistant to help with all this - it's a growing pain.
What is your return policy?
This is an extremely rare occurrence but rest assured I take the dolls back gladly! You just have to pay the shipping back and I will refund you your invoice amount.
Some stitching has come undone/ my child pulled out the hair/ the cat has clawed the dolls face - can you fix my doll?
Yes, I can. Email me so I can get the details and we can arrange something. Please remember that these dolls are handcrafted - thread is what holds these little ladies together. Sometimes thread breaks - it happens. I will do everything in my power to repair the doll and make it right. We take great pride in our dolls - our sewing mama's make an average of 40 dolls before the ones they make are sold on the site - these ladies know how to sew dolls!
How sturdy are the dolls?
Very sturdy! The dolls are all sewn by moms who know how kids play with things. My dolls are in Waldorf classrooms all over the world and they withstand hours of play each day. That being said, they are made with cloth and wool and not plastic so they need to be treated a little more gently. This is a great way to nurture appreciation and respect for handmade things and to also bring 'life' to the doll. Rather than throwing the doll into a toybox (that makes me gasp) you can make a bed for dollie and place her to sleep. Showing respect for the doll and treating it almost as if it is real is an amazing gift to bestow on your child and their imagination. The doll can transcend being an object to actually becoming a 'companion' - something that , as a parent and you see happen, is a very magical thing!
I love your work, but why do the dolls cost so much money?
I've blogged about this here .
Those buns on the dolls are the CUTEST! Do they come down? Can I put them on my doll?
They are pretty cute. They do come down - the dolls hair can be styled in a multitude of ways. I did a blog tutorial on how to do them on your doll. Please excuse the cut and pasting to be done.

Can you add freckles to a doll that is all ready made?
Of course! Let me know and I'll put some on the doll for you. Easy!
Why don't you name the dolls on the upload preview on Facebook?
Each upload there are one or two dolls that many people gravitate towards - usually one with pink in it's hair or something like that. What was happening was that soo many people were clicking on the doll name before the picture would load wreaking havoc on my shopping cart system! So this way it's more fair.
Do you have limits on your dolls?
Yes, I request a limit of 2 dolls per household per month. This limit applies to people who buy a doll for another person as well. More about the limit here ... https://bamboletta.com/?p=1336
