What is the difference between the types of dolls?

Classic
The original Bamboletta doll, our Classic doll is the very first we made ten years ago. Based on traditional German doll-making patterns similar to the Waldorf Doll style, they’re a bit larger than most of our dolls and come with more detailed clothing and underpants. Their thick hair is perfect for combing and styling to unleash a child’s creativity. Always hug-ready, our sweet Classic Dolls are also a little heftier than most, which gives them a more realistic feel that can be very comforting to children. Recommended for ages three and up, though they’re a great companion for all ages.

Baby
Like all babies, our Baby Dolls are adorable bundles of sweetness. From the curve of their little backside to the sweet little cap of hair – they’re made with love through and through. Rose quartz and amethyst (stones said to have calming properties) give them a lovely weighted feel in the bum. Every Baby Doll is unique; some have opened eyes and others are quietly sleeping. They each have a little cap of hair, a diaper, sleeper, matching hat and and a cute swaddling blanket to cuddle with. Wonderful for ages 1.5 and up.

Sitting
Our Sitting Dolls love to be invited to tea parties or to imaginary classrooms where they can find a cozy seat for their bendable limbs. With their rounded feet, outstretched arms and movable limbs, Sitting Dolls are perfect for children and moms who want a softer playmate. They come with underpants, a super cute outfit and shoes. We recommend a Sitting Dolls for ages three and up, but they love kids of all ages.

Little Buddy
Perfect for little ones who love little things, this is a traditional Waldorf-style doll with arms stretched out, always ready for lots of hugs. Our Little Buddy dolls come with a simple outfit and underpants. They’re proof that it’s sometimes the simple, little things that can bring us the most joy!

Why are there so few dolls and frocks available?

It does look like that, doesn’t it? But don't worry - we are always making more! We put many of our dolls up for sale each Friday at noon PST and we also put up new dolls several times per week at different times - so keep checking back!

Where can I view the dolls before the upload?

We put up preview pictures of most of our dolls and frocks on our Facebook page.

Where do you ship?

Worldwide!

Do you do custom dolls - I thought I saw somewhere that you do customs?

We are not currently offering custom dolls at this time. With one of our busiest seasons fast approaching, we're using all of our resources to put up as many dolls online as we can. We do happily take requests to add to the upload if you have something in mind that you haven't been seeing.

How do you wash these dolls?

Your Bamboletta is stuffed with wool which is naturally antibacterial. If your doll gets dirty, you can wash it by spot cleaning with a soft cloth and a little wool friendly soap. Make sure to rub up and down with the grain of the fabric. Rinse well. You may also give your doll a quick soak in a sink filled with cool water and wool friendly soap. Squeeze out excess by blotting in a towel and leave to dry. At our home we give our dolls a vacuum once in a while and leave the dolls outside on a sunny day, I think the sunshine naturally 'cleans them up'. We also have a great blog post written by a friend of ours that covers clean ups for various 'accidents'.

Do you do wholesale?

We are thinking about it and are in current talks with a distributor. Please email us at info@bamboletta.com for more information.

Some stitching has come undone/ there's a small hole - can you fix my doll?

Yes, we can! Please remember that these dolls are handcrafted - thread is what holds these little gals and guys together. Sometimes thread breaks - it happens. We will do everything in our power to repair the doll and make it right. Please note, some fees may apply  for fixes that occurred outside of normal play. Email us at dr.dolly@bamboletta.com so we can get the details and arrange a trip to the dolly ER!

How sturdy are the dolls?

Very sturdy! The dolls are all sewn by moms who know how kids play with things. Our dolls are in Waldorf classrooms all over the world and they withstand hours of play each day. That being said, they are made with cloth and wool and not plastic so they need to be treated a little more gently. This is a great way to nurture appreciation and respect for handmade things and to also bring 'life' to the doll. Rather than throwing the doll into a toy box (that makes me gasp) you can make a bed for dolly and place her to sleep. Showing respect for the doll and treating it almost as if it is real is an amazing gift to bestow on your child and their imagination. The doll can transcend being an object to actually becoming a 'companion' - something that, as a parent and you see happen, is a very magical thing!

I love your work, but why do the dolls cost so much money?

We've blogged about this here. Long story short - 10 - 12 hours goes into each doll (and made by local moms who are paid well - not made in an overseas factory!) and the highest quality materials I can find, wool stuffing, natural fiber hair, designer quilting cottons - this stuff is pricey.

Those buns on the dolls are the CUTEST! Do they come down? Can I put them on my doll?

They are pretty cute. They do come down - the dolls hair can be styled in a multitude of ways. Visit the Bamboletta YouTube Channel for a few different videos on 'how to' do the buns!

Can you add freckles to a doll that is all ready made?

Of course! Just email us at freckles@bamboletta.com and we will put some on the doll for you. Easy! Do you have a doll already? We have a 'how to' on the Bamboletta YouTube Channel if you'd like to attempt it yourself!

I purchased a doll and would like to change the shipping address from the one I entered, can I do that?

No, unfortunately due to insurance purposes, we can only ship to the address entered at the time of purchase.

I bought a multiple order of frocks, will any of the shipping be refunded to me?

Yes, but it needs to all be purchased through the same paypal account. You don't need to contact us about the refunded shipping either, just give us a couple days to sort it all out and your shipping and handling overages will be refunded accordingly!

More Important Information...

These variances cannot be used as a reason for return - it's the nature of handmade. Please contact us at returns@bamboletta.com for instructions on your return. Shipping will be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Please note, your doll must be in perfect condition, and your return must be approved by Bamboletta Ltd. before it is shipped back to the studio.
Our return policy may not apply when the doll is purchased by a third-party. Each case will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please review our returns policy and contact us at returns@bamboletta.com if you are unhappy with your doll.
