All the materials we use are natural, and sourced locally as much as possible. We use local wool to stuff the dolls, and raw yarns to hand-dye and hand-spin. Our process is steeped in traditional doll making techniques and we are careful to stay true to those traditions as we evolve.
When we call our dolls one-of-a-kind it’s because they truly are, from the fabric being cut, to the stuffing of the bodies, all the way to sewing on the hair and stitching on every sweet little face. When those last touches are put on each doll, that is the moment when we see its little spirit. Its personality comes to life and then we give the doll a name. We like to think of each one finding its person; it’s a feeling unique to Bamboletta.
Each doll is truly one of a kind, no two are ever the same. Unlike mass produced toys, every Bamboletta is completely unique, from her wool stuffing to her hand dyed hair to the face I embroider myself. When she finds her family, that's it. There's no restock, no reorder, she existed only once in the world.
It all started in 2003 when I made my first doll in my livingroom on the westcoast of Canada
Bringing Ember Bronwyn home has been such a deeply moving, magical experience. From the very moment I opened her box and whispered "Okaeri" (welcome home), I could feel the gentle, peaceful presence she carries. It felt as though she had been quietly tucked away in a safe, loving place, simply waiting for the exact right moment to make her way across the ocean to our family.
Christina is a truly gifted artist with the most genuine, kind heart. Every detail reflects the incredible warmth, intention, and love that she and her team pour into every single stitch. You can truly feel that each doll is crafted not just with immense skill, but with pure heart and soul.
For anyone considering a Bamboletta for the first time: they are exceptionally well-made. Firmly stuffed with sweet sheep’s wool, they never feel cold or "rock hard" like plastic dolls—instead, they carry a firm, stable, warm, and deeply "safe" feeling when held. We have loved Bamboletta since my daughter was 3 years old, and they are incredibly durable for years of play, from tea parties and playing hairdresser to picnics and shopping trips. What surprised me most was how my daughter naturally handled her Bamboletta with such gentle care and tender respect, so different from how plastic toys were treated. That is the true Bamboletta magic at work!

Christina couldn’t have been more helpful. She found a different dress for the Forever Friend when I asked for a different colour. The delivery was quick and I could track it all the way to my house.
My grand daughter loves her surprise new friend. She came with a little shoulder bag and I put a special message in it, hoping Twilight would keep her company forever. She found the hidden pocket and loved the little stone and message secreted there. Christina was so kind, giving me the option of a different dress that my special grand daughter would love. She is a beautifully made, unique doll and I appreciate all the hard work that went into making her.
